Black Lives Matter - The Judd School Update

An Update From BLM Meetings At Judd:
Firstly, thank you so much to all those who contacted the school to raise their concerns and make suggestions, and especially to those who gave up their time to join the online alumni meeting, it was really appreciated. With matters very much still in progress we thought you might like an update of where we are at.

We are still putting together a longer-term plan to further develop our anti-racist curriculum and approach within the school.  We started the year with training for all staff on the Black Lives Matter movement, and how to identify and challenge microaggressions.

We will be celebrating Black History Month in October and would like to include a (virtual) library display of books by black authors - we are asking OJs to recommend their favourite book, with a short description/review to encourage our current students and staff to read it ('Waterstones' style).

Please email these to: ojcommunity@judd.kent.sch.uk

We look forward to receiving these!

Many thanks.
