Geoff reminisces about playing rugby at Judd:

I remember so much of my time at Judd which was 1953 through to 1958 as the family moved from Gloucester to Tonbridge mid term with my father moving to Tonbridge football club. I had started playing rugby at the Crypt School in Gloucester so I was very pleased when Mr Taylor accepted me mid term.

The photograph above is one of the 1954-55 First Team taken outside the cricket pavilion.

I am second row down 3rd from right.  My two big  friends were Don Glanvill  (Top row middle of 3)  and Roger Phillips (Second row down 2nd from left).  The three of us went off to different colleges but after 3 years we were back together at Saracens Football Club. We actually followed Roger Phillips' brother, Peter,  who was a very quick winger;  and Gordon Rosser (scrum half) who were both first team Saracens players and always played in the annual game of Old Boys v School 1st Team, which we always lost but was hard fought.

Kind regards,

Geoff Hunt
