OJ, Emma Wagstaff (Class of 2015) Headed for the Edinburgh Fringe

Emma shares her exciting journey and her goal to raise funds to take her show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this Year:
I first realised my interest in drama during my time at Judd when I was an Arts Captain for
Hodge House and I directed the Sixth Form play. After leaving Judd I went on to study History
of Art at UCL, where I manage to get involved with a lot of student theatre. I have now
graduated from UCL and have begun my next artistic adventure…
Over the last few months I have adapted, produced, directed and performed in an
experimental play called ‘Knots’ which we performed in January at Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge

The piece is based on a book of poetry by the Scottish psychiatrist R.D Laing. The
performance explores the "knots, tangles, fankles, impasses, disjunctions, whirligogs,
binds" that can arise in relationships. Laing's poems take Jack and Jill as their focus, but
perhaps the patterns that emerge between the characters are strangely familiar to us
The production was a great success, and we have now decided to take the show to the
Edinburgh Fringe.  We have managed to secure a fantastic venue called the Fife Theatre run
by theSpaceUK.

However in order to do this, I am currently trying to raise funds for the show and we are
looking to raise £2,300. If any OJs or parents would like to help me realise this dream here is
the fundraising page:
Emma has kindly offered to be a point of contact for any OJs or current students thinking
about doing theatre studies at university or to ask her about the Edinburgh Fringe and the application
