Congratulations to Theo Daviron on his achievements with the National 7s Academy

We have had a wonderful good-good news story from Theo Daviron (turned OJ just this year - Class of 2021):

"I was approached at the end of the 7’s season (2020 – shortened due to lockdown) whilst playing for Judd at an inter-school tournament by coaches from the National 7s Academy and invited to join them. Honored by the offer, it was a no-brainer to join the academy.

With much of my Yr 13 rugby season cancelled through the various lockdowns, I did have some incredible opportunities around the region, training with the Academy South East squad, including access to the latest training technology and receiving coaching from current and past international 7s players, including England and GB 7s captain, Tom Mitchell.

Although many of the anticipated inter-regional tournaments had to be cancelled due to RFU guidelines and COVID, the season did culminate in a 7s Tournament at Old Silhillians RFC near Birmingham where I was selected to play for England South in a North v South competition. Unfortunately, not coming back with a win on this occasion but a fantastic way to sign off on Age Grade Rugby and I look forward to continuing with both 7’s and 15’s rugby in the years ahead."

Mr. Reilly adds, "please can the OJ Community congratulate all of the rugby players in the school for continuing to practice and play - both boys and girls. It has been really encouraging to see the Judd sporting culture continue in such difficult circumstances this year.

The Seniors are really committed and have been led superbly by Alex Campion".

Well done Theo! and please keep the OJ Community updated with your progress updates!  We will be keeping an eye out for you!
